Freelance's "Mallorca Summer Sun Holidays" Selection

Sa Tanca, Pto Pollenca, Mallorca

Just 5 minutes drive from the beaches at the southern and of the Bay of Pollenca and with open farmland to the rear, this very appealing villa is set in a large plot complete with orchard, plus the  advantage of it's own tennis court in addition to a lovely 8m x 4.5m pool.

The main entrance door leads into a hallway with on one side, the kitchen with attractive tiled work surface and pine table and chairs, plus full cooker, microwave oven and washing machine. Just across the hallway is a generous walk in larder with plenty of shelving and a large fridge- freezer. Beyond here, an archway opens into a long and spacious open plan living area, furnished and decorated in an appealing country style with some lovely pieces of antique furniture and two comfortable sofas as well as large colonial style ceiling fans. A few metres from the kitchen is a huge old fireplace with wood-burning stove, plus dining table and chairs, whilst at the far end of the room, patio doors open onto a spacious covered terrace, where there is a further large circular pine table for open air dining. To one side of the living area are one double and one twin bedroom, both well furnished and with sloping beamed ceilings and pretty curtained windows looking out on the orchard. Next to the bedrooms and off a small hallway is a smart bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. Also off this hallway is a further small shower room.

To the rear of the covered terrace is a very attractive rustic barbecue area whilst nearby is the inviting 4.5m x 8.5m swimming pool with roman steps into the shallow end. A pathway through the small orchard leads to the tennis court.

A fold up bed is available for an extra guest who can sleep in relative privacy in the small, curtained ante-room, situated at the far end of the living room, with doors to the covered terrace. The villa also has a TV (restricted English channels) with satellite receiver and DVD player.

The swimming pool has a minimum depth of 1.2m sloping to 1.8ms.

Puerto Pollenca is no more than 10 or 12 minute drive away, whilst a 5 minute drive or 35 mins walk in the opposite direction will bring you to the atmospheric, old Roman town of Alcudia with numerous small tapas bars and family run restaurants lining the narrow flag-stoned streets. A wider choice of eating places can be found down at the  the picturesque quayside.

Puerto Pollenca, Mallorca

Comments on this property

David Searle - Sep 2009
"We really fell for Sa Tanca- a beautiful secluded house but near to both Alcudia and Pollenca which we loved for their old houses and Markets. The house was thoughtfully equiped and the pool a delight-both very well kept by the friendly owner and his assistants. The two excursions we enjoyed the most were a boat trip around Cap Formentor and ride on the train from Soller to Palma. If you have a car we recommend driving to Soller, which is easy now through tunnel, rather than parking in Palma. Also if you have transport a magical evening meal at the Ermitage de la Victoria-excellent food with a view to savour as the sun goes down over Pollenca bay--- not cheap but worth every penny or cent! There are at least two lovely walks one over the Cap Pinar or the other across from Puerto Pollenca to Cala Boquer. Go early so you get the cove to yourself for a swim. Thoroughly recommend Freelance Holidays the service and help provided was excellent. "

"Second year visiting Sa Tanca and still love it. Out the way enough to be very peaceful yet very central to many beaches, shops, restaurants etc. Our 3-year old had a ball this time loving all the space to run around and loved visiting the various beaches. Looking forward to next year!"
